My Story

Welcome to the world through my lens. I’m Kondwani Jere, a documentary photographer and filmmaker based in Malawi, committed to ethical storytelling that captures the essence of Africa.

My journey in photography is fueled by a deep-seated desire to give voice to the often overlooked and unheard. Through my work, I strive to reveal the resilience, spirit, and beauty found in every corner of our environment, from bustling city streets to the serene landscapes where humans and nature coexist.

Every photograph I take is a piece of a larger narrative. It’s not just about capturing an image; it’s about telling a story. Whether it’s the determination in the eyes of individuals facing daily challenges or the intricate balance of life in natural habitats, my camera is a tool for exploration and understanding.

My approach is inspired by the greats who have mastered the art of unfiltered, authentic storytelling. This has taught me to appreciate and document the simplicity and complexity of daily life, capturing moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

My work dives deep into the heart of cultures and communities, celebrating the diversity and unity that define our shared human experience. Each project is a testament to the richness of our collective history and the moments that bind us together.

Photography, for me, is more than a profession. It’s a means of engaging with the world, contributing to important dialogues, and inspiring change. Through my images, I aim to evoke emotions, provoke thought, and foster a deeper connection with the stories that surround us all.

I am continually learning, growing, and evolving in this craft, always in pursuit of those fleeting moments that speak volumes about the human experience.

I'm always looking for new and exciting opportunities. Let's connect.
